Mold production is a highly engineered, complex process that challenges the ability of craftsmen and designers to construct a mold that will produce a perfect part. Since the part will only be as good as the mold that makes it, precise mold construction is a critical function.
Durability with no tolerance erosion is also important to mold production. Elgin Die Mold uses the very best steels and the most modern tooling, machinery, and measuring instruments so that its skilled craftsmen can be assured of fabricating molds to the most critical specifications without flaw. In addition, computerized statistical analysis tracks tool history that indicates when a tool needs repair, maintenance or replacement.
In-house maintenance inspection and needed repairs of customer molds are performed on a schedule basis in our own shop. All molds are carefully stored in a safe area that is temperature and humidity controlled.
